An important message from the Board of Directors

To the Father Christmas Academy Community:

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that the Board of  Directors of the Tanzania School Foundation has voted to permanently close Fr. Christmas Academy in Mlangarini village, Arusha at the completion of the 2022 academic year.

Over the last decade, FCA has quickly developed into a school known for its highly regarded and dedicated teachers, innovative curriculum, and thriving student body. Students prepared for success in life, empowered to become young people of character, integrity, and leaders in their community.

While the strength of our academic program, the caliber of our faculty and staff, and the vibrancy of our community life are beyond question, unfortunately, this does not make FCA immune from the financial challenges that come with a commitment to ensuring an exceptional and accessible education. While every member of the Board and the leadership of the school have worked tirelessly to find a way forward, we have not been successful in finding a strategic partner(s) who could support the long-term sustainability of the school. Additionally, our school continues to face the challenge of ongoing shifts in primary age children. This combination of key factors has resulted in insurmountable financial pressures that have led to this decision.

We understand that this is very difficult for everyone in our community.

As devastating as closing this fairly new and inventive school, we will work to ensure that this process is one that conveys the maximum possible respect and support for everyone whose lives and careers are impacted.

Sincerely,

The Tanzania School Foundation, Board of Directors
